a few from maine

I really didn’t pick up my camera much over vacation.  Really just enjoyed our downtime and riding in some decent conditions.  I didn’t take the camera out at all on the mountain this year.  Instead, I just photographed a few random things around the house while Zach built his very own jump.  Unfortunately, I didn’t come prepared for night shooting, but I managed to grab a few frames of Zach spinning off his jump with the help of some ambient light from the house.  They are ridiculously noisy, but at least I was happy to be able to get any images at all with how dark it was.  I’m off back to the northeast for a wedding, be back next week!

back to Maine

I am out of the office once again for our annual snowboard trip to Saddleback in Maine.  This looks to be a much better trip than our Presidents day weekend trip to Sunday River.  Unfortunately, we had some windy and icy conditions for that trip and really didn’t have a great time riding.  I still have the bruises on my behind to prove it!  Saddleback got 20 inches or so early this week, so we have a good chance of having some great conditions.  I’ll be back on March 9th and in the meantime will have very limited phone and internet while we are in the middle of nowhere!  All phone calls and emails will be returned then.  Then it will be a short week as I’ll be back in New England the following weekend to help my gal pal, Leigh Miller shoot a winter wedding in VT!  Here are some images from our past Maine trips.

see what’s in store for us this year!  i’ll post some pics when we get back!

out of the office

I’m am out of the office for the holiday weekend.  We are going snowboarding with with our ski club, Bucks Mount Ski Club at Sunday River in Maine!  It’s been 11 years since I’ve gone on this particular ski club trip.  The last one was so much fun, even though it was about 18 below a couple of the days.  Keep your fingers crossed for me for warmer weather and fresh snow!  Check out this monster of a mountain with 131 trails, 31% percent of which is diamonds and double diamonds!  I’ll be back on Tuesday and replying to phone calls and emails then.

walking in a winter wonderland…

…well, not exactly, but the closest thing we have had to it yet!  We have had some freezing rain over the past couple days and it’s been pretty gloomy till this afternoon when the sun peaked out for a couple hours!  So, I chased the light right before sunset and managed to grab a few images of an ice covered field.  It’s amazing that something so beautiful can be so dangerous!

I’m back!

I’m back after crazy couple of weeks out of town.  Unbelievably, I’m feeling refreshed after all that running around, large, in part to spending the tail end of my month at Jesh de Rox’s wonderful workshop in NYC.  I want to spend some time on here telling you all about it, but I’m still gathering my thoughts.  In the meantime, here is one of our homework assignments from the week.  Here is my self portrait.  This was a challenge for me for several reasons, but I’m happy I pushed myself out of my comfort zone.  I’d love to know what you all think!

San Francisco

Part 2 of California!  Here are some images in and around San Francisco.  A couple are views of SF from Alcatraz.  Recognize a certain crazy curvy street?  Some of the docks in SF.  And a few views of SF at sunset from Sausalito.
